Ingredients
- Medium sized boiled potatoes (mashed) 5
- Cilantro (finely chopped) 2 tbsp.
- Green chili 1
- Red chili powder ¼ tsp.
- Amchur powder 1 tsp.
- Mint coriander chutney ½ cup
- Salt As per taste
- Ingredients for outer coating
- Gram flour/besan 3 cups
- Red chili powder ¼ tsp.
- Hing pinch
- Garam masala powder ¼ tsp.
- Ajwain ½ tsp.
- Water as required
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
First mash peeled and boiled potatoes.
Step 2
Add the red chili powder, coriander leaves, green chili powder, salt, amchur powder and mix well. Keep aside.
Step 3
Take besan in a bowl.
Step 4
Mix the ajwain, garam masala, red chili powder, asafoetida, salt, half cup water in it and mix well. Prepare a batter and make sure it is not very thin or thick.
Step 5
Add little oil to the prepared batter and stir. Keep aside.
Step 6
Keep a triangular slice on tray/rolling board/cutting board.
Step 7
Take a teaspoon of tomato sauce or coriander-mint chutney or sweet chaat chutney and apply it over the bread slices.
Step 8
Take 2 tbsp. mixture of mashed-potato and evenly spread it on the slice.
Step 9
Cover this stuffed slice with triangular slice to prepare a sandwich. Press the prepared sandwich slightly.
Step 10
Layer the stuffed sandwich with the besan batter.
Step 11
In hot oil, slid the sandwich and fry them as pakoras on a low heat till they turn golden brown.
Step 12
Drain and serve hot.
Step 13
For deep frying, heat oil.
Step 14
On a cutting board, cut the bread into rectangle or triangle shapes.
