A very easy recipe to cook up, the addition of tamarind pulp and spices gives an aromatic and flavorsome side dish.

Ingredients

  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Potatoes 1/2 kg
  • Onion 2 (Chopped)
  • Lemon 2
  • Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  • Mint 1/2 bunch (Chopped)
  • Green Chillies 6 (Chopped)
  • Tamarind (Imli) Pulp 1/2 cup
  • Curry Leaves few
  • Coriander Leaves Chopped 1/2 bunch
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cooking Oil 1/2 cup
  • Onion Seeds 1/2 tsp

Method

Step 1

Boil, peel and mash potatoes.

Step 2

In a large skillet, on a medium flame, add the mashed potatoes along with 1 glass of water, lemon juice, finely chopped onions

Step 3

Now add finely chopped green chilies, a few curry leaves, finely chopped mint leaves, tamarind pulp

Step 4

Add sugar, turmeric powder, ground mustard seeds, onion seeds, salt as required and cup oil.

Step 5

Cook for 5 minutes and remove.

Step 6

Now the Potatoes are ready to serve.
