Highway Mutton Karhai Recipe is a contribution of “Chef Sara Riaz” for Food Recipe Contest on Den of Delights.


  • Salt as much as u need
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp
  • Tomato 250 gm
  • Garlic Paste 1 Tsp
  • Crushed Red Chilli 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Green Chillies 4-5 pcs
  • Ginger 1 inch piece
  • Crushed Cumin (Zeera) (Roasted)1 tsp
  • Mutton 750 gm
  • Coriander Leaves Chopped (Roasted) 1 tsp
  • Fresh Cream 3 tbsp
  • Fresh Coriander as much as u need
  • Ghee 1/3 cup


Step 1

In a pan put 1/3 cup of ghee add ginger paste n garlic paste n fry then add tomatoes n mutton fry for 2 mins cover the pan with lid and leave it to cook (the meat wll get cooked in its own water but if u think there is less water, then u can add water) .

Step 2

When the mutton is half cooked add remaining ingredients i.e roasted crushed cumin, roasted crushed coriander, crushed red chilli, red chilli powder, salt n yoghurt cook for about 4-5 mins then again cover the pan with lid n cook until the meat gets fully cooked.

Step 3

Now add cream, fresh coriander, sliced ginger, green chillies n again cook for 5-6 mins until the ghee seperates from curry.

Step 4

Garnish with coriender leaves, ginger n green chillies.

Step 5

Serve hot with naan.
