Gajar Ka Zarda – Once again Chef Shireen Anwar brought a very delicious desert. With a very unique combo of rice and juicy red carrots.
Ingredients
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Carrot peeled and grated 250 gm
- Sugar 1/2 kg
- Rice 1/2 kg
- Yogurt 1 tbsp
- Almonds and Pistachio Sliced 4 tbsp
- Cardamom Green 6 pcs
- Cooking Oil 1/2 cup
- Coconut sliced 3 tbsp
Method
Step 1
Boil rice with salt in water till tender.
Step 2
Heat ghee in a pan, add crushed green cardamoms, sugar and 1/2 cup water, cook till sugar is dissolved.
Step 3
Add in yogurt, mix and add in boiled rice.
Step 4
Cover and cook till sugar syrup nearly dries.
Step 5
Add grated carrots, mix well.
Step 6
Cover and leave it on low flame for 15 minutes.
Step 7
Remove in a platter and garnish with sliced almonds, pistachio and sliced coconut.
