Donuts – Homemade donuts are not as hard as they look. Today we are going to reveal the secret of making the dish of wish, the donuts.
Ingredients
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Sugar 1/4 cup
- Yeast (khameer) 2, 1/4 cup
- Eggs 1
- Milk lukewarm 3/4 cup
- Water warm 1/8 cup
- Cooking Oil (for deep frying)as required
- Flour 2, 1/2 cup
Method
Step 1
In a mixing bowl mix the yeast and water until it dissolves.
Step 2
Add to the bowl milk, sugar, salt, egg, oil, 1 cup of the flour and mix on low speed for 30 second.
Step 3
Scrape the sides occasionally and continue beating for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Stir in remaining flour until smooth and cover with cloth and leave for an hour or until the mixture doubles in volume.
Step 5
Turn dough onto floured surface, roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with round cookie cutter.
Step 6
On floured baking sheets cover the donuts with a cloth and leave for 30-40 minutes until doubles in size.
Step 7
Heat vegetable oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees.
Step 8
Place the doughnuts in the hot oil and turn them as they turn golden brown for about 1 minute on each side and strain from oil.
Step 9
Once they have cooled down make a small hole, using a sharp knife and insert frosting.
Step 10
Dust with powdered sugar or spread with chocolate/vanilla glaze as well as coloured sprinkles and serve.
