Ingredients
- Sugar 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon Powder 1/4 tsp
- Yeast (khameer) 1 tbsp
- Eggs 1
- Sesame Seeds as required
- Almond sliced as required
- Vanilla Essence 1 tbsp
- Baking Powder 1 tbsp
- Water to knead the dough
- Cardamom Powder a pich
- Butter 1 tbsp
- Cooking Oil 1/2 cup
- Flour 3 cup
- Date
Method
Step 1
In a bowl combine flour, cinnamon powder, sugar, baking powder, yeast and oil, knead with warm water. (Dough must not be too soft)
Step 2
Leave the dough for 1/2 or until the dough rises and get double of its size.
Step 3
Remove the seeds of the dates and mash them.
Step 4
Add cardamom powder and butter to the dates and mix well.
Step 5
Whisk egg with vanilla essence.
Step 6
Take a portion of dough. Roll the dough and roll out with rolling pin like chapati.
Step 7
With a knife refine the edges and make a square shape.
Step 8
Roll the dates mixture in elongated shape and place on the one edge of the dough.
Step 9
Roll the date in the dough and with the help of knife cut the rolled portion and you will get a long roll.
Step 10
Cut the roll in pieces of desired length. And place on the baking dish.
Step 11
Repeat the same procedure with rest of the mixture and dough.
Step 12
Brush beaten egg on the top of the rolls and sprinkle sesame seeds and almonds.
Step 13
Pre heat oven at 10 degree and bake the rolls for 10 min or maximum 12, not more than that.
Step 14
Take out the rolls and serve hot or warm with tea in breakfast or as a snack.
