Ingredients
- Salt 1 tbsp
- Chicken (karahi cut) 1
- Cumin Powder 2 tsp
- Onion (thinly sliced) 3
- Clove (Long) 8
- Black Pepper Whole 6
- Yogurt 2 cups
- Garlic 1 tbsp
- Ginger 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon Sticks 4
- Whole Red Chilli dried (peeled & ground) 20-22
- Water 1 cup
- Cardamom Green 6
- Cooking Oil 1 cup
- kewra 6-7 tbsp
Method
Step 1
Dry pan-fry cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, cumin until you can smell the fragrance of the spices and set aside.
Step 2
In saucepan fry onions in oil until light golden brown, strain and set aside.
Step 3
In remaining oil, fry pieces of chicken on high heat for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Add ginger, garlic and stir- fry for another minute.
Step 5
Add salt, ground red peppers and immediately add water and place lid for a 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Blend onion and yogurt in a blender and add to chicken.
Step 7
Add kewra, cook for 5 more minutes and serve into a serving dish.
