Chicken Korma is a contribution of Rukhsana Jamil for Food Recipe Contest on Den of Delights.

Ingredients

  • Chilli 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin Powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander (Hara dhania) 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt 2 cups
  • Bay Leaf (Taiz Pattay) 1 pc
  • Ginger Chopped 2 tbsp
  • Poppy Seeds 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves Chopped 2 tbsp
  • Chicken (Wirth Skin) 2.5 pound
  • Garlic Clove 3 pcs
  • Cardamom Powder 2 peeled
  • Paprika 1 tbsp
  • Sunflower oil 1/2 kg
  • Peanuts 2 tbsp
  • Onion Chopped 2 medium pcs

Method

Step 1

Place chicken in bowl and marinate in yogurt,

Step 2

1 clove garlic, half an onion, paprika, ginger, salt and pepper for a few hours,

Step 3

Heat oil in large heavy casserole,

Step 4

Gently sauté remaining onion and garlic for 1 minute. Remove and set aside,

Step 5

Add to casserole the coriander, chili, cumin, cardamom seeds, poppy seed and turmeric,

Step 6

Fry for a few minutes. Add the chicken,

Step 7

Pour enough water to cover and add remaining marinade,

Step 8

Add onion and garlic with bay leaf,

Step 9

Simmer 45 minutes or until chicken is tender,

Step 10

Sprinkle the chicken korma with fresh coriander and serve.
