Delicious bihari steaks for beef lovers, these are marinated in wonderful spices, and yoghurt and then fried, creating a wonderful juicy yet flavorsome bihari steaks for you to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Onion: 1 (finely cut)
  • Lemon: 4
  • Black Pepper: 6 corns
  • Mint: 1 bunch (chopped)
  • Yogurt: 1 cup
  • Green Chillies: 4 (chopped)
  • Ginger: 2 tbsp
  • Papaya Paste: 3 tbsp (Raw)
  • Whole Red Chilli: 10
  • Green Cardamom: 8
  • Beef Steak: 1 kg
  • Mustard Oil: 1 cup
  • Coriander Seeds: 1 tbsp

Method

Step 1

Roast red chillies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamoms, black pepper, grams and poppy seeds on a griddle and grind.

Step 2

Pound steaks with mallet. Apply yogurt, ginger and raw papaya and set aside for 1/2 an hour.

Step 3

Heat 1/2 cup of mustard oil and fry onions until golden.

Step 4

Add marinated steaks and fry. Leave to cook over low flame.

Step 5

When water starts to dry, add mustard oil, mint, lemon juice and green chillies.

Step 6

Cook on dum for 15 minutes.

Step 7

Serve delicious Bihari Steaks hot.
